July 15, 2015 BC Wheelchair Basketball Society, the City of Surrey, Viasport and Wheelchair Basketball Canada are hosting an NCCP Introduction to Competition Coaching Clinic for wheelchair basketball. The Introduction to Competition course is appropriate for entry level coaches who are interested in teaching athletes (both disabled and abled bodied) fundamental wheelchair sport skills in a fun and safe environment and preparing athletes for local and regional competitive opportunities. Prince George Wheelchair Sports Have a Go Day
April 16, 2015 Did the 2015 Canada Winter Games make you want to try wheelchair sports? You're in luck! BC Wheelchair Sports & BC Wheelchair Basketball will be hosting a Multi-Sport Have a Go Day in Prince George on April 25th from 1:30 - 3:00 pm. Whether you're able-bodied or have a physical disability/mobility limitations, you're welcome to come get in the game and meet BCWSA/BCWBS staff and athletes. January 30, 2015 BCWBS is accepting nominations of individuals and/or organizations from the BCWBS member club or region for the Annual BCWBS Awards! The nomination deadline is February 13. Registration is Open for Intro to Comp Coaching Course
December 10, 2014 BCWBS is hosting the Intro to Comp coaching course on January 16-18 at Fortius Sport & Health in Burnaby. The course fee is $250 including meals. This does not include transportation or accommodation. However, some rooms are available at Foritus at the cost of $45/night based on double occupancy. read more...

May 14, 2013 From Wheelchair Basketball Canada Media Release: (May 13, 2013 - TORONTO, ONT.) - Wheelchair basketball was in the spotlight at the Canadian Paralympic Committee’s (CPC) 2013 Hall of Fame and Sport Awards Ceremony Friday May 10th at the Mattamy Athletic Centre. Hot on the heels of their London 2012 gold medal performance, the Canadian Men’s Wheelchair Basketball Team took home honours for Best Team Performance, while star player Patrick Anderson (Fergus, Ont.) was named Best Male Athlete, and head coach Jerry Tonello (Toronto, Ont.), who led the team to spotless 8-0 record, received the Tim Frick Paralympic Coach Excellence Award; on the same night that former Women’s National Team head coach Tim Frick (Pender Island, B.C.) and three-time Paralympic gold medallist Jennifer Krempien (Richmond, B.C., original from St. Albert, Alta.) were inducted into the Canadian Paralympic Committee Hall of Fame. read more...
